Employees may be assigned to different projects over time, including projects involving defense operations. Mile Two has an immediate need for an experienced DevOps Engineer to engage our current project and potentially future projects. The DevOps Engineer will be a self-starter streamlining and automating our operations and processes, taking responsibility for contributing to the design and development of on-prem and cloud-based environments with a focus in real-world DevOps best practices. You will be engaged in all phases of the DevOps lifecycle, interfacing with our customer and end user respectively, creating and supporting application deployment pipelines, scale the products in a growing, evolving environment, participate and lead project meetings both internally and with customers.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • 8+ years' experience developing software or scripting with Go, Javascript, Python or UNIX shell
  • Security+ certification or higher (required to touch government systems)
  • Able & willing to regularly work on site at Wright Patterson AFB
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with software security, secure coding, or software assurance tools and techniques
  • Experience in deployment & maintenance of software on prem/ in SCIF environment specifically the installation, configuration and integration of software components on cloud hardware infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Linux Containers (OCI-compliant, Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures
  • Demonstrated skill with at least one or more configuration management/scripting technology (such as Terraform/Helm/Ansible/Chef/Puppet)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory or comparable substitutes

Nice To Haves

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field of study
  • Experience with mitigation strategies for system security flaws or vulnerabilities
  • Experience with testing existing and new technologies for security vulnerabilities
  • Familiarity with DoD DevSecOps Reference Design
  • Familiarity with a virtualized cloud environment (Azure specific)
  • Strong experience and/or familiarity with one of more of the following program languages: Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, and Javascript
  • Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with one of more of the following database technologies: PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with DevOps, Continuous Development/Continuous Integration concepts, and automated test tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Jira, Git, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Junit, JFrog, ArgoCD
  • Familiarity of Anzo-graph (or other Altair software)
  • Understanding or familiarity of GDCS and Supports SAML and OIDC based SSO
  • Strong background in operating system (Windows and Linux) and web server (Apache, IIS) technologies.
  • Diverse background in application install and configurations

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and administer Container Cluster Platforms
  • Build and maintain IaC for application deployments into multiple enclaves
  • Assist application teams with onboarding in areas such as resource requirements, capacity analysis, troubleshooting support
  • Support cluster administrators in their efforts to use the IaC modules developed by your team
  • Integrate and automate the program's security posture
  • Monitor hardware, VM and container metrics for the purposes of maintaining cluster health and identifying thresholds for scaling
  • Develop and automate repeatable tasks
  • Assess system security to identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities
  • Provide mitigation strategies for system security flaws or vulnerabilities
