The Opportunity: Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the Leadership Team, The Senior Development Officer (SDO) will harmonize joint activities involving multiple departments to advance the RBG Endowment, Board Engagement, Employee Giving, Corporate Matching Gifts, and Mid-Level Giving, as well as support the CEO in raising major gifts.

Requirements

  • College degre e required
  • Minimum ten (10) years of professional nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Experienced fundraiser with track record of success
  • Experienced fundraiser in the international development sector
  • Experienced fundraiser in the children and families sector, domestic and/or international
  • Highly collaborative
  • Understands how non-profits operate
  • Understands the interdependency between Finance, Philanthropy, Partnerships, Programs, and Creative
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Comfortable with various CRM systems
  • Proficient in using data to measure outcomes, identify trends, and inform decisions
  • Lives the organizations core values of courage, commitment, trust, and accountability
  • Knowledgeable in people and asset safeguarding
  • Committed to understanding and working collaboratively with people from different cultures, communities, and countries
  • Passionate about protecting and empowering vulnerable children and families around the world

Responsibilities

  • Advancing the RBG Endowment Manage the RBG Endowment compliance, logistics, and events
  • Support the CEO, Board, and volunteers in raising additional funds for the RBG Endowment
  • Coordinate the awarding of RBG Endowment grants
  • Steward RBG Endowment donors
  • Propose relevant policies and procedures if needed
  • Developing the Mid-Level Donor Segment Acquire, engage, steward, retain, and upgrade mid-level donors, including small businesses
  • Growing the Employee Giving and Corporate Matching Gifts Segments Analyze employee giving and corporate matching gifts results, statistics, and trends
  • Discover opportunities to increase giving
  • Recommend and collaboratively implement strategy and tactics per the analytics
  • Create and improve current policies and procedures in employee giving and corporate matching gifts
  • Enhancing Board Members' experience, engagement, and activity Facilitate and record compliance with items like code of conduct certificate, safeguarding training, and conflict of interest forms
  • Manage logistics of in-person Board events
  • Coordinate delivery of meeting invitations, reminders, board books, and other materials
  • Monitor, recommend, and manage communications, solicitations, and stewardship for the current Board, former Boards, Advisory Groups, Emeritus Boards, and other Leadership Volunteers
  • Supporting the CEO in Major Gift Revenue Generation Assist with portfolio management
  • Enter call reports into the CRM
  • Coordinate follow-up actions, activities, and correspondence
