Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.
Experience in running and operating production workloads in Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
Experience running workloads on AWS and the common patterns used for cloud-native applications.
Experience regularly interacting with internal and external customers, and a focus on resolving their requests with a sense of urgency.
Ability to reason about large systems - how they work and can be operated on a large scale, edge cases, failure modes, and behaviors.
Strong background with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies, such as Terraform.
Experience with database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
Familiarity with scripting languages and understanding of basic concepts in either Shell or Python.
Drive to learn and urge to learn from the feedback provided by peers.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Manage application deployments using Helm charts and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
Deploy and maintain infrastructure on AWS utilizing Terraform.
Track the health, performance, and availability of infrastructure using observability and monitoring tools.
Troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve operational challenges contributing to defined service level objectives.
Maintain supporting infrastructure and tooling to meet the needs of PracticeTek development teams.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
