Senior Desktop Engineer, Deployment
About The Position
We are seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer to join our IT Operations team, responsible for essential tasks including building, testing, deploying and supporting the corporate images and desktop management solution using Kace, Workspace One, MaaS, and JAMF Pro. As the Senior Desktop Engineer you work within the IT Operations team as well as work closely with the Endpoint Engineering and Infrastructure teams. You will assist with building, testing, deploying and supporting the corporate images and desktop management solution using Kace, Workspace One, MaaS, and JAMF Pro. This includes packaging, patching, testing, and deploying both system and application updates to the end-user environment; assisting with the creation of new desktop deployment strategies; execution of inventory management processes of end-user hardware; comprehensive administration of the desktop environment; testing and evaluation of new hardware models; improvement of the desktop lifecycle; and provision of support for L2/L3 issue escalations/tickets.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role
- 3+ years of experience with Ubuntu Development, must have Linux experience
- Experience administering SCCM, MEM, Kace, VMware Workspace ONE or Jamf (VMware Workspace ONE/Jamf preferred)
- Expert knowledge of programming and computer engineering best practices
- In-depth understanding of relevant programming languages, including Python, Ruby, Java and C#
- Familiarity with basic coding, program design and database development
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Customer-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening
- Great project management abilities, including time management, prioritization and organization
- Good collaboration and teamwork skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
