This position is based in our Houston location; however, remote work may be considered for candidates with the appropriate qualifications, experience, and tenure.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of progressive gas utility and pipeline design experience required.
  • AutoCAD capabilities required.
  • MicroStation capabilities required.
  • Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.

  • Commitment to perform responsibilities consistent with industry standards to achieve department and company goals.
  • Interest in developing relationships with clients, partners, and local organizations to remain a trusted resource in the community.

  • Civil3D capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts across multiple disciplines and create innovative solutions to complex design problems.
  • Independently prepare and review various design deliverables while managing simultaneous projects.
  • Work with rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from clients or Project Managers for use in developing construction drawings.
  • Generate plan and profile drawings, including cross-sections and underground utilities, from reference files, survey files, and/or record drawings.
  • Create baselines, cross sections, and extract profiles from DTM, TIN, and/or contours.
  • Meet project completion dates and budgets set by the Project Lead.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, staff, supervisors, and principals.
  • Mentor and provide direction to other design and CAD personnel in the use of tools and preparation of design deliverables.
  • Perform thorough quality control on construction drawings, exhibits, and related documents.
  • Complete work in compliance with Company, Client, and Industry standards.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate, error-free work products.
  • Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.
