This Senior Data Scientist role will lead the development and implementation of advanced marketing data science models and algorithms, specifically focusing on Marketing Mix Modeling. The individual will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver solutions, drive best practices in data science, ensure data quality, and mentor junior scientists. The Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) team, part of the Global Marketing Analytics Team, aims to build an in-house marketing effectiveness measurement and optimization solution, acting as a strategic partner to the Marketing Organization to drive business-critical insights and decision-making for PayPal's 200+ million customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical techniques, particularly regression analysis and time series modeling
  • Proficiency in programming and query languages like Python, R and SQL.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and preprocessing
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • MS/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Economics.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing performance modeling and optimization including marketing mix modeling
  • Experience with Bayesian MMM
  • Experience with PyMC marketing framework
  • Experience with attribution modeling.
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Experience with experimentation and causal inference
  • Experience with cloud technology; particularly Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology platforms and data sources
  • Publications related to marketing performance modeling and optimization.
