About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Data Quality Specialist to lead the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data quality practices within a financial services organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness across critical data domains.
You will act as a subject matter expert in data quality controls, monitoring, and remediation, partnering closely with business stakeholders, data owners, and engineering teams to ensure data can be trusted for regulatory reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills, hands-on data investigation, and the ability to drive operational data quality processes in complex, regulated environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Management, or related roles.
• Experience working in financial services, banking, private equity, or other regulated industries.
• Proven experience implementing and operating data quality frameworks and controls.
• Strong knowledge of data quality concepts, dimensions, and methodologies.
• Advanced SQL skills for data investigation, validation, and profiling.
• Experience with data quality tools, frameworks, or custom validation solutions.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Familiarity with financial data controls and regulatory expectations (e.g., BCBS 239, SOX).
• Experience working with ticketing or workflow tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communicator, able to explain data issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Proactive mindset focused on prevention, not just remediation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience automating data quality checks using Python or scripting.
• Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for quality dashboards.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience supporting AI or advanced analytics initiatives from a data quality perspective.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise data quality rules, thresholds, and validation criteria across key data domains.
• Design, implement, and monitor data quality controls, scorecards, and KPIs.
• Execute data profiling, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis for data quality issues.
• Lead data issue management workflows, including tracking, prioritization, remediation, and closure.
• Partner with Data Owners and business stakeholders to define quality expectations and accountability.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to automate data quality checks within pipelines and platforms.
• Support regulatory and audit requirements by providing evidence of data quality controls and monitoring.
• Produce regular reporting on data quality trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the evolution of enterprise data quality strategy and operating model.
