About The Position

Position Description: Delivers state-of-the-art analytics platforms using SQL, Python, Java, and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) development. Implements relational and dimension data models to improve platforms. Maintains data using database technologies (Snowflake). Provides long-term solutions for foundational data and analytics platforms. Coordinates workflows using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and software version control. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications. Works in a multi-tier architecture with Java and Oracle integration. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Confers with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Primary Responsibilities: Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions in a financial services environment, using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Hive, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, and Informatica PowerCenter.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions in a financial services environment, using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Hive, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, and Informatica PowerCenter.
Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data platforms and integration solutions, using PL/SQL, Snowflake, Informatica, and Python; developing and optimizing PL/SQL procedures and packages to support enterprise data processing and transformation; performing Oracle database tuning and enhancement in a Cloud-hosted environment, using Oracle RDS; and performing data acquisition and automation using Python.
DE designing and implementing enterprise data warehousing and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) solutions, using Snowflake and Informatica PowerCenter; and coordinating Physical Data Model (PDM) changes with data modelers to ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture standards.
DE supporting real-time data integration and distribution pipelines in a distributed Cloud environment, using Apache Kafka, AWS EC2, Elastic MapReduce (EMR), GoldenGate, and Striim; and contributing to quality assurance by supporting unit and QA testing of Angular-based applications.
DE developing enterprise reporting and analytics solutions in a Cloud-based environment, using Tableau and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle RDS, AWS EC2, and EMR; and delivering business insights through interactive dashboards and performance-optimized reports.

Responsibilities

Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
