About The Position

As a Senior Data Engineer at CEPRES, you will support the Principal Data Engineer in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure. You will contribute to building scalable solutions and manage daily operational data tasks to ensure the integrity and accessibility of data across the organization. Your role also demands active collaboration with the software engineering teams to implement effectively and integrate the data layer with other platform components.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in Databricks.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Snowflake.
  • 2–3 years of experience leading teams.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (including performance tuning, query optimization).
  • Solid hands-on experience with AWS Services (2 years).
  • Experience or strong knowledge of AWS/ Azure DevOps
  • Familiar with data visualization tools(in Power BI)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with software engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • (Optional) Experience with Docker, Jenkins, and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures using Databricks, Snowflake, and SQL.
  • Assist in designing and implementing data systems and pipelines, aligning closely with Data Engineering requirements.
  • Demonstrate 2–3 years of experience leading small data engineering teams, coordinating workloads, and aligning technical execution with product priorities.
  • Collaborate extensively with software engineering teams, and the Product team to ensure that data solutions meet application needs.
  • Maintain and optimize existing data structures, ensuring integration with software applications.
  • Document data processes and adhere to data governance standards while facilitating data usage by software teams.
  • Mentor other data engineers at CEPRES.
  • Along with the Product team, help coordinate the backlog of data engineering tasks.
  • Ensure data engineering best practices implementation across data engineering projects.
  • At times, lead technical discussions, provide architectural inputs if required.
