As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a key individual contributor responsible for building, maintaining, and governing the data architecture that powers Ford Pro’s commercial ecosystem. You will translate architectural blueprints into scalable data solutions while serving as the primary steward of our data integrity. This role requires a hands-on engineer who excels at data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and the proactive management of data flows between Salesforce, MuleSoft, and our cloud environments. Data Modeling & Ecosystem Stewardship Manage the Data Model: Act as the primary maintainer of the Data Model Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), ensuring it accurately reflects the evolving state of Salesforce and integrated systems. Field Governance: Review and validate new data field requests to ensure alignment with existing structures, preventing redundancy and maintaining schema health. Data Flow Mapping: Track and document end-to-end data flows across the ecosystem (Salesforce, MuleSoft, GCP) to provide a clear "source of truth" for data lineage. Data Definitions: Ensure a deep understanding of data assets by creating and maintaining comprehensive data dictionaries and metadata documentation. Alignment: Partner with the Principal Architect to ensure all data elements comply with Ford Pro’s Common Engineering Policies (CEP) and global data standards. Data Pipeline & Integration Engineering Build & Optimize: Design and maintain robust data pipelines to integrate Salesforce CRM with internal and external systems using MuleSoft and GCP. Automated Integration: Implement automated ETL/ELT processes to support Salesforce Data Cloud and other analytics platforms. Performance: Write and optimize complex SQL/SOQL queries and scripts to support high-volume data transformation and validation. DevOps, Quality & Technical Excellence CI/CD Management: Work with the DevSecOps team to oversee the end-to-end release lifecycle for data products using DevOps tools like Copado and GitHub. Validation & Testing: Conduct rigorous performance and load testing on data workflows to ensure high availability and scalability for fleet operations. Security & Compliance: Implement data masking, encryption, and security protocols in alignment with Ford’s global security and privacy standards. Community Leadership: Contribute to the Salesforce Community of Practice (CoP) by sharing reusable engineering patterns and advocating for "clicks-not-code" data solutions where appropriate.
