As a CBRE Senior Data Center Mechanical & Electrical Technician , you will focus on maintaining and troubleshooting critical building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, and fire/life safety—through daily inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency response. The technician ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and system reliability while coordinating with vendors and documenting all work. A technical background, Journeyman/Electrician license , and experience in mission-critical environments are essential. This is an onsite role in Tampa, FL. Other common job titles: Critical Facilities Technician, Data Center Electrician. Relevant military experience will be considered. Shift Differential: Employees working night shifts are eligible for a shift differential in addition to their base pay.

  • Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with OEM recommendations and industry standards.
  • Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
  • Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn't meet all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC or Electrical-related client problems.
  • Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures.
  • Follow all safety processes and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
  • Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Oversee all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues.
  • Must remain current with the latest technology trends.
  • Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  • Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
  • Model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
  • Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent and / or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Journeyman/Electrician license required (or obtainable within 60 days of employment), and state and local licensures, where required.
  • 3+years of relevant data center or other mission critical experience.
  • Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of this role
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
  • Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, Basic math skills.
  • Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
