About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and growth-oriented Senior Data Analyst to serve as a strategic partner to Music Operations and Finance. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and data engineering, translating complex operational and financial questions into scalable reporting, data models, and executive insights. The ideal candidate takes ownership, approaches complex problems with creativity and persistence, and continuously raises the bar for analytical excellence. They pair technical expertise with sharp business acumen, transforming data into actionable insights that create meaningful business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in the analytics domain as a data analyst/data engineer/data scientist
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL with experience optimizing complex queries and building scalable data models
  • Hands-on experience with Sigma (or similar BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI) for dashboard development and self-service reporting
  • Demonstrates eagerness to learn new technologies, methodologies, and business domains
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or advanced certification in related field preferred
  • Programming experience in R, Python, or similar analytical languages is preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting concepts or knowledge of music/entertainment industry is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Finance, Music Ops, Acquisitions, and other business stakeholders to understand business priorities, operational processes, reporting needs, data gaps, and advanced analytical requirements
  • Translate complex business questions into actionable analytics and reporting solutions
  • Lead deep-dive analyses on revenue, streams, royalties, catalogue & artist performances
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making
  • Own the full data analytics lifecycle—from requirements gathering and data discovery to data modeling, visualization, and stakeholder delivery
  • Partner with stakeholders to thoroughly understand business needs, reporting objectives, and success metrics before solution design
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support financial and music operational reporting
  • Integrate data from multiple source systems to create unified, analytics-ready datasets
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise data architecture
  • Design, build, and maintain executive and operational dashboards in Sigma, ensuring intuitive self-service reporting for Finance and Music Operations stakeholders
  • Establish and enforce standardized metric definitions, KPI frameworks, and semantic layers to ensure consistency across reports
  • Implement robust data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring to proactively identify and resolve data discrepancies
  • Investigate and remediate data integrity issues by partnering with data engineering and source system owners
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, transformations, business logic, and reporting definitions
  • Champion data governance best practices to ensure accuracy, reliability, and trust in analytics outputs
