The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for consulting with business leaders and stakeholders to define analytical objectives, conduct advanced and often highly complex ad hoc analyses, and deliver insights that guide strategic and operational decision making. The analyst independently designs analytical frameworks, constructs datasets, and selects appropriate methodologies and tools (Excel, PowerBI, Snowflake, etc.) —including advanced techniques beyond descriptive statistics—to evaluate trends, diagnose root causes, and formulate recommendations that drive business outcomes. The Senior Data Analyst responsibilities also include designing reporting to monitor KPIs, connecting analysis across multiple departments or business units, and proactively informing the business about trends in data. The role also plays a critical leadership function in data governance by identifying and remediating inconsistencies in reporting or metric definitions, collaborating across departments to establish standardized calculations, and developing or enhancing metrics, reporting logic, and analytical methodologies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment across the business.
