About The Position

The Senior Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of campus facilities. This role assists the Custodial Manager in coordinating cleaning schedules and supervising the day to day operations of the Custodial Staff. The Senior Custodial Worker plays a critical role in creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Four years experience in the understanding/application of modern methods of building clearing, equipment operation, and application of chemical solutions.
Certificates in Custodial related fields.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
Lead and assist in supervising a team of custodial staff.
Understanding of various cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used for maintaining cleanliness in different environments.
Respond to emergency cleaning requests and special projects promptly.
Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students regarding custodial needs and services.
Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
Follow all safety requirements, use protective equipment, and manage exposure to moderate hazards such as dust, grease, noise, and temperature extremes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
