About The Position

VitalSource®, is hiring a Senior Credit and Collections Representative to contribute to our Finance team located in Tennessee. While this will be a full-time, remote position, there will be required in-person training in Franklin, TN. We are looking for a Senior Credit and Collections Representative to manage customer accounts, drive timely cash flow, and resolve escalated billing and payment issues. As a key expert on the Credit and Collections team, you’ll partner across Sales, Customer Success, Billing, and Finance to reduce risk, improve processes, and support strong customer outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, thrives in collaboration, and knows how to influence others toward resolution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Credit and Accounts Receivable, including management of complex or high-dollar customer accounts and interpreting financial statements.
  • 3+ years of experience that includes training and/or coaching others.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute collection plans for a complex, high-dollar customer portfolio.
  • Proactively reduce past-due balances through consistent follow-up, escalation, and resolution.
  • Lead collection efforts on significantly aged or high-risk accounts.
  • Own resolution of complex billing disputes, credits, and payment delays from identification through closure.
  • Partner with Billing, Customer Success, and Sales to resolve issues impacting payment.
  • Ensure disputes are accurately documented, tracked, and followed through to payment.
  • Act as a trusted credit partner to internal stakeholders, providing guidance on risk, payment status, and next steps.
  • Lead escalations with clear recommendations, timelines, and accountability.
  • Communicate confidently with customers and internal leadership regarding payment expectations.
  • Identify trends, root causes, and inefficiencies impacting collections performance.
  • Recommend and support improvements to credit, collections, and dispute management processes.
  • Share best practices and support training of team members as needed.
  • Model professionalism, urgency, and accountability in all interactions.
