Summary Responsible for either determining credit worthiness and appropriate lines of credit or for leading a team of Junior credit analysts in evaluating and approving/rejecting loan applications based on established criteria. Handles large and/or complex accounts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Chair weekly credit meetings, credit analysis and structuring, loan structuring, projections and sensitivity analysis, credit approval documentation Review commitment letters, loan documentation, past dues (particularly maturing and renewing credits), review covenant compliance, loan downgrades Watch list management according to bank guidelines, keeping management fully informed of any material consideration affecting the loan portfolio, board presentations, ensure that credits adhere to credit policy guidelines. Mentoring and leadership of RM's, analyst, and client specialists as it relates to lending, underwriting, and negotiation, etc. Receive credit requests and make approve/decline decisions within established policy, guidelines, and turnaround times. Underwrite real estate related credit requests. Document decisions properly and completely with particular diligence given to explanations of overrides or variances, to include a narrative to explain credit decisions. Provide a high level of customer service to the originators of loan requests to include the communication of credit decisions and answering questions. Works with the loan administration and client specialists to manage delinquencies on loans; Reports troublesome loans to the senior credit officer and commercial line manager on a timely basis. Ensures that the systems of record are accurate for the loans being administered; ensures that management information is reported timely and accurately. Obtains satisfactory loan reviews and ensures that regular audits are performed. Qualifications College degree in related field At least 8 years of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
