About The Position

Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees working at the Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center. Complies with agency vision and mission in ensuring that victims and survivors of crime are provided with holistic advocacy, support, and forensic services. Collaborates with community partners and county staff to raise awareness of the impact of violence and trauma and the resources available to victims in our community. Verifies compliance with all programmatic or operational requirements of both grant and county funding sources.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice or a closely related field; OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education, and/or experience.
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License or secure one by date of employment.
  • Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance as of date of employment.
  • Must be able to respond effectively to crisis situations.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • All employees hired after September 1, 1986, must be residents of Shelby County and shall continue to reside in the County as a condition of their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic supervision of assigned personnel, ensuring the delivery of trauma-informed, survivor-centered victim services.
  • Communicates clear oral and written directives to support effective, timely, and compliant service delivery.
  • Collaborates with staff and executive leadership to design, implement, and refine program operational procedures and service protocols.
  • Serves as an active member of the agency’s leadership team, contributing to the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of victim-centered programs.
  • Collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data to prepare comprehensive reports derived from individual records and/or database systems.
  • Designs, coordinates, and delivers in-service training to support staff competency, compliance, and professional development.
  • Supports the Manager or Deputy Administrator in personnel functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, and corrective or separation processes.
  • Assists in the establishment, review, and ongoing revision of operational and programmatic policies and protocols.
  • Supports agency programming and mission objectives as assigned or directed.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
