About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to support a rapidly growing biotechnology organization. This role plays a key part in driving accurate product costing, supporting manufacturing operations, and improving financial visibility across a dynamic and purpose-driven environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in cost accounting within a manufacturing or life sciences setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–7+ years of experience in cost accounting in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, BOMs, routings, and inventory accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze standard costs, inventory valuations, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Perform monthly cost accounting close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and FP&A teams to understand production activities, cost drivers, and operational performance.
  • Support general ledger activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and assisting with monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Monitor and report on purchase price variances, manufacturing variances, scrap, and labor/overhead allocations.
  • Support annual standard cost updates and periodic cost rollups.
  • Assist in forecasting cost impacts and developing cost models to support decision-making.
  • Participate in cycle counts, physical inventories, and internal control assessments.
  • Enhance systems, tools, and processes to increase accuracy and efficiency across cost accounting functions.
