About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountatn to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in West Hartford, CT. The position will support our manufacturing operations in West Hartford, Connecticut. The role is responsible for the day to day financial and operational support for our Wiremold facility. This position is responsible for supporting the following financial activities of the plant; monthly accounting close, productivity reviews, financial reporting and internal controls, standard costing and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related subject matter combined with experience.
  • Experience: 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Requires close attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors.
  • Exceptional computer skills, extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and data base software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management and related communications software
  • Able to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation. Able to create effective reports, presentations, and business correspondence. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Various job duties/responsibilities and special projects as required
  • Support Trade and Compliance team with Country of Origin Analysis
  • Assist in the financial management and reporting for WM Operations functions
  • Act as financial liaison to support the WM operational groups
  • Month end financial close including but not limited to journal entries, consolidation reports, monthly account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly financial variance analysis
  • Develop financial models using Excel and other financial reporting system to report and communicate trends on financial performance
  • Participate in the budget and forecast process and provide finance support to functional cost center leaders; oversee and manage the creation and completion of annual budgets
  • Manage annual standards setting process
  • Partner on fixed asset tracking and reporting of capital expenditures
  • Perform ad-hoc project analysis to support EWS finance & operations functions
  • Provide internal controls with entity level balance sheet reviews and documentation for selected financial control procedures
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required
