About The Position

This role, reporting to the Director Senior Counsel - Employment, provides strategic, business-focused legal counsel on employment law matters across CDW’s North American operations. The Senior Corporate Counsel partners closely with Coworker Success (Human Resources) and business leaders to proactively manage employment risk, support strategic projects, and enable business outcomes in a fast-paced environment. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring strong judgment, the ability to operate independently, and the capability to lead complex initiatives while balancing legal risk, business priorities, and CDW’s values. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant employment law experience.
  • Active law license in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary legal advisor on a broad range of employment law matters, providing pragmatic, risk-balanced guidance aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with Coworker Success and business leaders to identify risks, recommend solutions, and support workforce-related decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on employment law issues impacting business strategy and operations.
  • Drive and support employment law compliance efforts, including drafting, interpreting, and implementing employment-related policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Monitor and interpret employment law developments and proactively communicate risks and changes.
  • Develop and deliver employment law training as appropriate.
  • Support employment litigation strategy in partnership with in-house litigation counsel.
  • Manage outside counsel on employment matters.
  • Manage demand letters and administrative charges throughout every stage.
  • Provide guidance on classification, pay equity, and incentive and variable compensation plans.
  • Provide advice on wage and hour issues and compliance.
  • Provide employment law support for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional employment initiatives.
