The core mission of Oracle's Corporate Architecture group is to set and enforce direction in product architecture and related standards for a wide variety of functional areas, including security, use of Oracle's core technology stack throughout the product portfolio, accessibility, and intellectual property strategy and compliance. Among other functions, the Corporate Architecture group approves the use of all third party technology in Oracle Products, access to Oracle's network and to product source code, open source releases, and commercial inbound license agreements. This position will have a variety of responsibilities involving both business and technical oversight and enforcement of Oracle policy across the organization. Some particular areas of responsibility will include: Helping drive requirements and specifications for tooling implementing our policies (e.g., tools for managing approvals of third party software and data, code scanning and bill of materials generation, and tracking applications of AI in Oracle products and services). Ensuring product compliance with license requirements and policies on the use of third party technology and working with development teams to remediate any gaps. Review and approval of the following with respect to IP rights and other license terms, security, competitive positioning, sustainability, and other concerns: Uses of Free and Open Source Software, Uses of proprietary third party software and cloud services, Uses of Oracle owned, third party licensed, and/or customer data in product development and research, Uses of external consulting and development services for product development, auditing, and certification functions, Distributions of and agreements to distribute or otherwise provide access to Oracle source code, Third party access to Oracle's internal network(s), Uses of third party hardware in Oracle products and services, and Uses of artificial intelligence in Oracle products and services. Partnership agreements involving any or all of the above. Coordinating with other groups including Legal, lines of business, other approvers, and cross-functional technology teams (e.g., UI and security teams) on architecture and policy matters. Collecting, authoring and disseminating Corporate Architecture policy on third party technology, source code, security, open source, and commercial agreements. The ideal candidate for this position would be either a developer with substantial contracts management experience, or a business operations manager orâ orney with enough technicalâ depth and experience toâ readily understand both the details of proposed technological solutions and their implications vis-à-vis security, licensing and competitive issues. â The position will require the ability to understand both the uses of third party technology in our products, and the licenses and other requirements that govern those uses, in detail. It also requires someone who is interested in learning what is going on across a huge range of product and service offerings, and whose personality will allow them to pragmatically help manage Oracle developers (and business people, and lawyers) into compliance with policy.
