Senior Corporate Accountant
About The Position
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be part of the team responsible for 606 revenue accounting, maintaining the general ledger, the monthly close, preparation of SEC filings, assist in the preparation of the quarterly earnings releases, perform technical accounting research, internal controls, and various special projects. This position and related activities will require interfacing with all levels of Operations, Corporate, and Accounting personnel on a regular basis. Who are we? Job Summary Significant involvement in the ASC 606 revenue accounting process, including determination of 606 revenues and disclosures Part of the team responsible for all general accounting activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and accounting related analysis Assist with the maintenance of accounting software systems and reports Provide support and/or accounting guidance to other departments or sites, as needed Assist with preparation of support for 10-K and 10-Q disclosures and the tie-out process Assist with the preparation and tie out of quarterly earnings releases and earnings call scripts Assist with maintaining effective internal controls in accordance with SOX 404 requirements Support internal and external audit activities Research technical accounting issues and document conclusions Assist and/or prepare accounting policies and memos Provide process improvement input to help increase overall team efficiency. Lead and/or participate in various special projects
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with SEC reporting is preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with all Microsoft Office software.
- Hands on experience working with an ERP system (Baan system experience is a plus).
- Attention to detail as needed to ensure accuracy of financial information.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
- CPA or CPA candidate.
- Solid knowledge of internal controls and SOX 404 requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience within a national Tier 1 or Tier 2 firm.
