Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Controls Systems Engineer to drive the design and development of control system software for industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. You will join a team delivering advanced controls for chillers, air handlers, and smart building products that optimize cooling/heating performance and energy costs. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art testing facilities and the opportunity to contribute to leading cooling solutions that advance decarbonization, data center efficiency, AI-enabled manufacturing, and sustainability. Work as part of a rapidly growing team to tackle new control needs in decarbonization and data center cooling. Design, implement, test, and support control software for chillers and air handling units used in data centers, large facilities, and industrial applications. Develop reliable, maintainable, and testable code in MATLAB/Simulink; apply model-based design practices for embedded systems. Apply control theory and engineering principles (modeling, simulation, statistics, data acquisition) to create robust, efficient controllers. Drive data-driven modeling and machine learning to analyze test data and develop plant models for challenging systems. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to capture system-wide software requirements and drive the development of new chiller and HVAC products.
