About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is seeking a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer - Commissioning. This is a hybrid role with approximately 50% travel. A company vehicle is provided! What you’ll do: As a Senior Commissioning Engineer for Power Systems Controls, you will provide field service systems integration support and technical consultation for customers in the areas of system design, programming, installation, start up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of automated control systems and power management systems.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience starting up PLC & Relays Based Automatic Transfer Schemes.
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work locations listed on this posting. No relocation is being offered for this position. Active-duty military members exempt from this geographical limitation.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

  • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
  • Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company’s safety program.
  • Knowledge and understanding of best engineering practices for design and operation of automation systems, power management systems, human-machine interface software, PLC programming, etc.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques to control circuits, logic controllers, and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechatronics from an accredited institution.
  • Certified Training in Generator Control: Emergency Standby Systems, Prime Power, Co-Gen, Microgrid etc.
  • Minimum 5 years working with customer on a technical basis and deployment of automatic power transfer or paralleling switchgear controls projects

Responsibilities

  • Programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) & Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s)
  • Firmware and software updates to field installed components
  • Deploying automatic power transfer schemes (Main-Tie-Main, Main-Tie-Gen-Main, Main-Gen-Tie-Gen-Main etc.), and generator paralleling switchgear controls applications.
