About The Position

Working in tandem with leadership, business partners and creative teams alike, this role develops, writes and edits contents for projects ranging across various mediums, including print, web, video and social media. Why This Role Matters: The Senior Content Developer is a pivotal member of the creative marketing team, responsible for planning and developing compelling and engaging content that resonates with both internal and external audiences. Internally, this role will collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement content strategies that support the organization’s knowledge-sharing objectives. Externally, this role will apply exceptional writing, strategic thinking and research skills to create a diverse range of original content that aligns with CPL’s brand voice and values.

Requirements

  • You’re an exceptional writer with resolute editing and research skills, as well as demonstrated experience writing for the purpose of marketing/advertising people, products, services or brands
  • You have strong presentation and interpersonal skills, and you communicate effectively both verbally and via written correspondence
  • You think strategically and conceptualize creatively, and you know how to take advantage of all resources at your disposal
  • You can work cross-functionally to meet deadlines on time or ahead of schedule
  • You thrive when given an opportunity to “own” a project and demonstrate good, ethical judgement when working with internal teams
  • You aren’t afraid to take initiative
  • You’re receptive to constructive feedback
  • You’re familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • You earned a BS (or MS) in English or a related field of study from an accredited institution, and have at least three (3) years of professional copywriting experience – preferably in an agency setting, with a solid portfolio of work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the A/E/C industry is highly preferred
  • Experience with social media/content marketing, content management systems and/or proofreading is a major plus
  • Familiarity with standard style guides (such as the Associated Press’ standards) is another major plus

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit original copy that is accurate, engaging and well-researched
  • Produce a range of corporate marketing and communication materials, including long- and short-form content for:
  • Web copy and email content (i.e., blog posts, project profiles, social media, e-blasts, etc.)
  • Print collateral (i.e., brochures, handouts, etc.)
  • White papers and articles (i.e., thought-leadership topics, project and team member spotlights, firm news and announcements, etc.)
  • Video scripts/storyboarding
  • Paid advertising (print and digital)
  • Develop and execute content briefs for content marketing campaigns
  • Plan and develop essential content on our company intranet to promote organizational knowledge-sharing goals
  • Work closely with internal teams to participate in all stages of the creative writing process, from brainstorming to conceptual development
  • Research and learn about the needs of each practice team and subsequently target audiences to successfully develop strategic messaging concepts
  • Comfortably vary voice, style and other characteristics to the intended target audience, while also maintaining CPL’s brand voice
  • Stay apprised of appropriate style guidelines and engagement trends through business/industry monitoring and external resources
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload that often requires short turnaround
  • Strive to continuously raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with targeted audiences and inspires action
  • Ensure written materials are clear, concise and persuasive to help bring business/marketing strategies to life
  • Conduct thorough research to formulate ideas and/or support writing
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to teams as needed and subsequently revise copy based on feedback/direction
  • Proofread written work and online content
  • Manage time and establish priorities while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands
