The Role AArete is actively seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant with expertise in healthcare payer systems and data. As a Senior Consultant, you will bring a strong analytical mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a commitment to excellence. Requirements

  • 4 + years of consulting experience, with progressive responsibility and client-facing delivery
  • 2+ years of experience with the healthcare industry, specifically with payers
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience with healthcare claims analytics and/or network analytics, with strong understanding of payer/provider contracts, clinical operations, reimbursement language and models, and key contract terms
  • Demonstrated success solving complex healthcare payer challenges related to cost containment, operations, data utilization, and performance improvement
  • Advanced proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of SQL (or alike) for data analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify profitability and performance improvement opportunities, and build compelling business cases
  • Proven project and process management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to present confidently and engage directly with client and internal stakeholders
  • Creative, innovative problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, see the big picture, and exercise strong independent judgment and decision-making, especially in client-facing solutions
  • High degree of self-motivation, proactivity, accountability, and the ability to inspire and develop others
  • Cultural flexibility and adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced consulting environments
  • Willingness to engage in direct client interaction, including travel to client locations, when required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AArete’s other focus industries: Pharmacy, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Higher Ed, or Technology & Professional Services
  • Experience in healthcare systems and digital platforms, including Provider Data Management, Claims Adjudication (e.g., Facets, QNXT, HRP, etc.), and related tools, with the ability to leverage these systems to improve data quality, operational efficiency, and end-to-end healthcare processes
  • Based in Chicago, IL, and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed

Responsibilities

  • Owning workstreams by identifying innovative solutions through in-depth research, data analytics, and insightful interviews
  • Taking ownership in the development of business cases, delivering actionable recommendations, and leading the implementation of operational initiatives
  • Establishing strong stakeholder rapport and owning client communications, including presenting analytical findings and recommendations, and independently handling client inquiries
  • Gathering, refining, and analyzing complex data sets, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, and financial data, to enable accurate and robust quantitative analyses
  • Developing and delivering persuasive presentations to clients and internal teams, ensuring clear and impactful communication with a focus on concise storytelling
  • Mentoring and guiding Analysts and Consultants by modeling strong problem solving, communication, accountability, and teamwork to foster their growth and development
  • Developing a deep understanding of client needs and delivering exceptional results that align with their objectives
  • Asking incisive and probing questions to uncover underlying issues and identify new opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned
