About The Position

Serve as a senior member of Walker Solutions. Design and facilitate external consultations and training using engaging and effective practices. Engage in stewardship of potential clients for Walker Consulting, including but not limited to local educational agencies, state agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

Requirements

  • Must hold at least a master’s degree in education/special education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Administration, or other related field.
  • Must have five or more years of professional experience in a school or district setting.
  • High degree of organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Must perform an array of tasks simultaneously.
  • Must work independently and implement upgraded systems.
  • Must work to meet deadlines.
  • Must be a team player and be able to interface with all Walker Solutions and program staff, including managers and upper-level administration.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An ideal candidate is also committed to child centered, family focused culturally responsive practices and strength-based approach.
  • Requires long periods of sitting, using computer and telephones.
  • Ability to operate and access office equipment.
  • Have reliable transportation to travel to schools and districts throughout the state.
  • Attend meetings scheduled throughout the school day and at reasonable times before and after the traditional school day.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Walker Solutions’ Vice President of Consultation and Training on the development of strategic approaches, goals, deliverables, and workplans for external consultations and trainings.
  • Design and facilitate high-quality consultations and training on topics such as: Multi-Tiered System of Supports (strategic planning, program assessment, implementation, leadership training and coaching, practices and systems relevant to school or district-wide goals, at each tier, Data-based decision making) High Leverage Practices, Trauma-Informed Care, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) (child development, SEL curriculum, assessment/screening, org-wide practice) Behavioral and Mental Health (anxiety and depression, substance abuse, student case assessment, Cognitive Behavioral Training, trauma-informed practice, mental health literacy and first aid, etc.) Special Education (curriculum, assessment/screening, organization-wide practice)
  • Utilize adult learning principles and practices in the design and delivery of consultation and training activities to maximize learning and promote behavior and systems change.
  • Coach teams and school leaders in design, implementation, and assessment of necessary supports to achieve identified outcomes related,
  • To assist schools/staff in collecting and analyzing fidelity data and developing goals and action plans
  • Complete training as a certified instructor in evidence-based training, models, and practices, as needed
  • Effectively manage projects and relationships with external clients and organizations, ensuring high-level client service, communication, and quality assurance.
  • Participate in program assessment and data collection activities, as required. This includes analyzing training needs and requirements to determine the satisfaction with and efficacy of consulting and training activities, modify and improve existing activities, and identify and develop new consulting and training options.
  • Support marketing and promotional outreach material development and distribution.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
