About The Position

Be a part of the Human Resources team at WSP USA! As a Senior Professional, HR Business Partner you will provide advanced support within the HR Advisory function for our Earth and Environment business line, delivering consultative guidance on complex employee matters, policy application, and HR processes. You will support business leaders through the resolution of employee relations cases, workforce transactions, and program implementation efforts. This position plays a key role in translating organizational goals into HR solutions by advising on structure, change, and performance, while also supporting data integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to an effective, consistent, and high-performing HR environment across WSP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline, or demonstrated proven equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in human resources or related areas.
  • Advanced knowledge of employee relations practices and HR policy application.
  • Experience providing HR guidance to managers and employees in a professional services or corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and sensitive HR matters with sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in managing HR lifecycle processes and understanding transaction impacts.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, employment regulations, and HR documentation standards.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple HR actions and advisory responsibilities across assigned business areas.
  • Experience with performance management systems and HR program facilitation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to different audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into actionable insights or guidance.
  • Experience participating in audits, investigations, or employee complaint resolution
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfort working with HRIS tools and reporting platforms.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to organizational changes.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting change management initiatives or HR technology rollouts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical HR advisory services to assigned business groups, supporting decision-making and employee management practices.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, employment law, and internal guidelines to provide sound, risk-informed recommendations.
  • Partner with managers to address sensitive employee relations matters, performance concerns, and development plans.
  • Coordinate and guide complex employee lifecycle transactions, including reorganizations, reporting changes, and compensation adjustments.
  • Analyze employee data, identify trends or concerns, and provide summaries to leadership to support workforce planning and risk mitigation.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives that improve the employee experience, workforce alignment, and compliance.
  • Liaise with HR Centers of Excellence (e.g., Talent, Compensation, Benefits) to support consistent program execution.
  • Monitor, escalate, and help resolve issues related to data integrity, process delays, or system errors in HRIS.
  • Prepare and deliver communications and guidance related to organizational changes, HR initiatives, or employee programs.
  • Act as an internal consultant for policy interpretation, HR documentation requirements, and best practices.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of HR training for managers or employees on key policies and tools.
  • Support the implementation of performance and talent management programs through planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Conduct reviews of job data, organization charts, and transactions to ensure compliance and alignment with structure and policy.
  • Assist with the rollout of change initiatives, including drafting communication, scheduling activities, and monitoring adoption.
  • Maintain expertise in applicable employment regulations and evolving HR best practices.
  • Provide support for conflict resolution efforts and corrective actions in consultation with senior HR leadership.
  • Manage time-sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Travel as needed and perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
