About The Position

Support Federal clients across the full spectrum of financial management, including federal grants, reimbursable agreements, procurement processes, and budget formulation and execution. This role requires strong client relationship and presentation skills, analytical skills, knowledge of Federal financial management regulations and processes, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for clients. Works as part of a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality work products on time and in alignment with client goals. Financial Management & Analysis Provide ongoing financial management support to Federal clients in accordance with applicable Federal financial management requirements and guidance. Support the quantitative development of business case documentation (for example, needs analyses and cost/benefit analyses). Prepare, review, and reconcile financial documents such as invoices, travel vouchers, reimbursable agreements, and grant related financial records. Support budget formulation, execution, and monitoring activities, including tracking obligations, expenditures, and variances. Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose practical recommendations to enhance financial operations and controls. Client Delivery & Communication Develop clear, well-structured deliverables (presentations, reports, analyses, dashboards) that synthesize complex information into actionable insights and recommendations for clients. Facilitate client meetings and working sessions to gather data, understand requirements, and validate findings. Communicate with client and internal stakeholders on project status, findings, and next steps, including explaining financial concepts to non-financial audiences. Provide analysis and insight to managers and leadership to inform decision-making and project direction. Innovation & Problem Solving Perform research and analysis to identify and obtain needed information, including applicable Federal regulations, policies, and best practices. Address issues and problems that are generally defined and may involve multiple interrelated factors, applying sound judgment within established frameworks and guidance. Recommend changes to processes, tools, or documentation to solve problems and improve efficiency or compliance. Leadership & Teamwork Work as part of a team or independently while taking ownership of assigned tasks and workstreams. Follow established methodologies, standard operating procedures, and quality standards. Assist on small to mid-sized, moderately complex projects or task orders, including coordinating specific activities or deliverables. Organization Impact & Stakeholder Management Contribute to achieving project deadlines, quality expectations, and client satisfaction. Collaborate effectively with project team members, internal support functions, and client stakeholders to drive progress and resolve issues. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a field that includes accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • 3 - 5+ years of consulting experience , preferably supporting Federal clients in financial management–related engagements.
  • Experience with Federal financial management, such as grants management, reimbursable agreements, procurement processes, or budget formulation and execution.
  • Experience working with Federal agencies and familiarity with Federal financial management requirements.
  • Knowledge of Federal financial management regulations and guidance (for example, Treasury Financial Manual, Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), OMB Circular A‑123, and Federal budget process).
  • Experience performing or supporting internal control assessments or related risk and control activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
  • Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship restrictions apply.
  • This hybrid position role may require up to 2-5 days on-site at the Client's office.
  • This hybrid position is open to candidates who will reside within 50 miles of DC.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA or CGFM certification, or progress toward one of these certifications.
  • Additional relevant certifications (for example, CDFM, PMP, CFA, or other financial management, audit, or project management credentials).
  • Experience supporting Federal grants management, including pre‑award, post‑award, and closeout processes.
  • Experience with Federal reimbursable agreements and interagency agreements, including formulation, execution, and reconciliation.
  • Hands‑on experience with Federal financial systems (for example, core financial systems, grants management systems, or procurement systems).
  • Experience supporting finance transformation, business process reengineering, or operating model design for Federal clients.
  • Experience developing and delivering training or knowledge‑transfer materials for Federal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace Suite.
