About The Position

Senior Construction Project Manager will lead and execute field construction and systems installation projects across extremely remote Alaska airports. This role manages multiple concurrent site builds under the same overall scope — heavy civil trenching and grounding, installation of fiberglass shelters, power/data infrastructure, and aviation weather system integration. This is a senior delivery role — responsible for scope, schedule, field execution, subcontract coordination, and compliance within federal contracting requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering NAS / FAA / weather systems / telecom infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with logistics into bush Alaska / remote barge delivery / winter staging.
  • Experience coordinating with civil + electrical trades on remote sites.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • 15+ years experience in construction project management.
  • Proven experience managing construction projects in Alaska (remote / rural / bush / off-grid / aviation / DOT / telecom strongly relevant).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple live field projects concurrently.
  • Strong cost control, change management, subcontractor oversight, and field execution discipline.
  • Familiar with federal construction contracting environment (prime or sub).
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple remote Alaska airport construction projects concurrently from NTP through as-builts / closeout.
  • Lead project planning, site mobilization, materials logistics, field labor workflows, and contractor sequencing.
  • Direct trenching, ground grid installation, conduit/raceway routing, foundations, and shelter placement.
  • Integrate aviation weather system components into installed civil infrastructure.
  • Manage subcontractors, schedule, budget, change orders, and cost controls.
  • Work with engineering + CAD drafters to ensure drawing packages and site conditions stay aligned.
  • Maintain FAA specifications, government contract compliance, safety practices, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Drive reporting cadence — status, risk, issues, next actions — to client and internal leadership.
  • Deliver full closeout packages including photos, redlines, and as-built documentation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
