About The Position

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Project Manager to own and manage all aspects of projects to include client relationships, schedules, budgets, and profitability through comprehensive project completion. As the Senior Project Manager, you will collaborate with Superintendents, Quality Control Managers, and Site Safety Officers to ensure contractual requirements are met and exceeded. The Senior Project Manager works with and trains other Project Managers to ensure their wealth of knowledge is shared and utilized throughout all projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction/engineering or similar
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience specific to Corps of Engineers and/or other federal agencies
  • 10+ years of construction project management experience in new and vertical construction, and the design-build construction process
  • Capability of running multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability and desire to build rapport with field staff, office staff, clientele, Tepa management staff, subcontractors
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective project management control systems in compliance with contract requirements on USACE and other projects including field experience providing oversight on construction site work activities.
  • Ability to obtain military base access and pass a background check and drug screen in compliance with federal regulations
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • Must possess ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Good understanding of administrative and management principles involved in project planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources to assist in quality control management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Tepa Core Values are being practiced by all Tepa staff
  • Has decision making authority at project level as designated by EVP
  • Communicates frequently all project, client, and staff concerns to Executive Vice President (EVP) and President of Construction
  • Manages projects and its development from beginning to end, including every aspect of the development process such as consultants, subcontractors, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, and internal departments
  • Manages each phase of the project including entitlement, design-build, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, billing, and project close out
  • Creates a project schedule in P6 as required
  • Establishes budgets within 14 days of award of a contract and updates budgets throughout the project as needed
  • Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Manages design process on Design Build projects, including constructability and scope
  • Plans, schedules, and manages project timelines to see all deadlines are met
  • Presents reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Performs quality control and assurance
  • Performs budget development, forecasting and management
  • Establishes site office and communications
  • Prepares and tracks RFIs
  • Manages and evaluates Superintendents, Quality Control Managers and Site Safety & Health Officers
  • Conducts pre-qualification and procurement activities (buyout) of subcontractors and oversees the subcontract process
  • Ensures project requirements are being met for bonding and insurance per current Tepa standards
  • Manages Subcontractors and Vendors and initiates and works through the Cure Process when required
  • Verifies Superintendent’s 3-Week Look Ahead Schedule
  • Trains and mentors Project Managers, Quality Control Managers, Superintendents, and Site Safety Officers as required to ensure project staff meet or exceed Tepa standards
  • Works with EVP and staff to ensure Tepa Employees are being treated fairly and their concerns are being addressed
  • Maintains open communication with field staff regarding all issues and resolutions
  • Work with Human Resources/Recruiting group through hiring and disciplinary process as required
  • Prepare cost estimates and participates in bid reviews and assists with proposal preparation, including writing technical and scheduling requirements of the proposal
  • Performs cost and risk analysis and provides recommendations to management
