In this role as construction manager you will be working on a downtown legacy project. The construction manager will monitor job progress and review contractors schedule updates. In this role you can also expect frequent field visits to the project job site.

Requirements

  • A minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in construction
  • Experience in design-build vertical construction
  • Experience Primavera and Microsoft (MS) Project scheduling software
  • Knowledge of construction management practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel software

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret contractor’s baseline Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules
  • Review and approve contractor’s shop drawings and to determine whether the City’s comments are valid and applicable
  • Review and process contractor’s requests for information (RFI)
  • Anticipate problems and develop solutions to overcome problems
  • Prepare and review construction cost estimates and negotiating change orders
  • Research details and inform management of potential delays and problems
  • Organize and maintain construction records
  • Analyze contract requirements and environmental impact requirements to ensure full execution of the construction contract
  • Provide frequent reports to Management on Project status concerning issues, budget, and schedule
  • Conduct weekly meetings onsite with the contractor and issue meeting minutes

  • The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $190,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
