About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing configuration management (CM) across developmental and operational systems. It involves establishing, maintaining, and auditing configuration baselines throughout the system lifecycle-from initial requirements through system retirement. The position supports both development and operational teams by implementing CM plans, procedures, and automated tools to ensure disciplined control of hardware and software versions. The role also includes contributing to change control processes and advising the Government Change Control Board (CCB).

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of configuration management experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • A Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of required experience (minimum six years).
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional four (4) years of CM experience may be substituted.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited institution required.
  • Master's degree accepted as a substitute for two years of experience as noted above.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and audit configuration baselines for development, testing, production, and operational environments.
  • Develop, tailor, and implement CM plans, policies, and procedures based on system scope and complexity.
  • Apply CM discipline throughout the full system lifecycle, from requirements definition through end‑of‑life.
  • Execute change control processes and perform configuration audits.
  • Assist with hardware and software version control processes, ensuring proper documentation and configuration tracking.
  • Support documentation and development of hardware and software CM processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and enhance environments for hardware and software builds, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Utilize CM tools such as DOORS and Eclipse to store, track, and manage configuration items.
  • Create and integrate build scripts and procedures into the hardware and software build process.
  • Serve as an advisor or non‑voting member of the Government Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Work independently to define, implement, and enforce CM procedures and version control best practices across development projects.
