About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Responsibilities As part of the team, you will:

Requirements

  • Must have a High School degree and 10 years of experience
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must comply with all "drug free workplace" requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SAE/EIA 649 Configuration Management Standard, highly desirable.
  • Ability to work Engineering Requirements as they relate to CM, experience preferred.
  • Database knowledge and skills of KSC applications: KDDMS, CMST, MaxCMDS, Maximo, Solumina, Peoplesoft, experience preferred.
  • Configuration Management Principles and Implementation Certification or training towards certification, highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Configuration Management (CM) disciplines and requirements.
  • Familiarity with SAE/EIA 649 Configuration Management Standard, highly desirable.
  • Familiar with Engineering Release Process and Procedures.
  • Ability to work Engineering Requirements as they relate to CM, experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand change requests as it relates to Engineering changes and release of Engineering Documentation
  • Understanding in maintaining accurate accounting and status of requirements as they impact multiple organizations.
  • Perform Document and Drawing reviews to ensure incorporation of CM requirements.
  • Database knowledge and skills of KSC applications: KDDMS, CMST, MaxCMDS, Maximo, Solumina, Peoplesoft, experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with Teammates, Engineering, support functions, and Customers.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks without jeopardizing deadlines and accuracy.
  • Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Configuration Management Principles and Implementation Certification or training towards certification, highly desirable.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Sharepoint various Internet browsers, and Outlook e-mail and calendar features.
  • Must be able to work off shifts and a reasonable amount of overtime with limited prior notification, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
