Senior Compliance Analysts are responsible for the credit union’s overall compliance with applicable rules, regulations and statutory requirements. This is accomplished through an effective Compliance Management System and performance of the primary duties and responsibilities. Senior Compliance Analysts provide assistance to management and the Board of Directors by conducting compliance assessments, analysis, and risk assessments. In addition, they provide recommendations, advice, and clarifications of compliance issues while being conscious of streamlining efforts, cost effectiveness, safety and soundness, and internal controls. Senior Compliance Analysts regularly work under deadlines and assignments range from leading compliance assessments to implementing complex regulations. Requirements

  • Bachelors: Business Administration/Management (Required), Bachelors (Required)
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in compliance or a related field. | Required
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education. | Required

Responsibilities

  • Compliance Research and Interpretation: Facilitate Compliance examinations with examiners and internal/external auditors. Assist with mentoring other compliance staff on how to conduct effective research, compliance reviews, and analyses. Demonstrate proficient knowledge of all compliance laws, rules, and regulations affecting financial institutions. Demonstrate proficient investigative and interpretative skills are essential traits, required to perform the duties of this position. Independently conducts research and analysis of individual regulatory matters to identify deviations from requirements and provide objective conclusions regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance with laws rules and regulations. Ensures that report conclusions and recommendations are well supported. Must be familiar with the normal interpretation of credit union policies and procedures on shares and loans, credit union services to members, general office procedures; and, credit union goals and objectives, and be able to recognize any deviations from those procedures, policies and goals. Develop reports, analyses, or guidance materials for use by the Board, Senior Management, or the business units.
  • Product, Process, and Relationship Development: Participates in new product development and provides guidance regarding compliance concerns relevant to proposed and current products and services offered by the credit union, including electronic delivery services. Establish and cultivate a strong working relationship with the Business Units advance the culture and effectiveness of a synchronized approach to compliance management in respect of current, new or emerging laws and regulations as well as internal corporate compliance policy and procedures. Actively collaborates with the business units on compliance matters. Actively participates in projects that assist with meeting PSECU strategic and business unit objectives. Work in a team environment and directly with Internal Audit, LP&S and other compliance officers as needed on substantial, time-sensitive, high profile compliance issues.
  • Compliance Change Management: Monitor and analyze developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules and regulations. Advise the Supervisor of the operational impact of such trends and changes. Review and provide recommendations for new and proposed changes to credit union policies and procedures as they affect PSECU’s compliance with applicable regulatory and consumer/public interest laws, rules and regulations to the Supervisor.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Create, plan, and execute compliance reviews in accordance with established standards and practices including creation of compliance self-assessments to meet regulatory requirements and provide reports identifying compliance technical exceptions for reporting to Senior Management and the Board. Conduct reviews credit union forms, contracts, agreements, and disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations including advertising and marketing materials. Review PSECU policies for compliance requirements that require periodic Board and/or Senior Management review and approval.
  • Compliance Awareness and Training Program: Creates, conducts and/or assists with compliance training for PSECU Staff that effectively addresses the requirements of applicable laws and regulations, the credit union’s related policies and procedures and employee responsibilities. Maintains earned professional certifications by participating in nationally established CPE requirements. Participate in the interview and selection of qualified and competent individuals to perform compliance activities as needed. Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Maintains a high level of professional proficiency; ethics; and due care in the performance of assigned duties.
