About The Position

Guardian is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Senior Compensation Business Partner. This role is critical in designing, analyzing, and administering compensation programs that support Guardian’s talent, performance, and business strategy. The position requires deep compensation expertise, seasoned judgment, and the ability to solve complex problems independently while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders. The Senior Compensation Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor, contributing insights that influence pay decisions, program design, and market competitiveness. The ideal candidate is a seasoned compensation professional with in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and programs, comfortable working independently with broad direction, applying sound judgment to complex pay issues, and challenging the status quo to improve outcomes. They value collaboration, can translate data into clear insights, and are viewed as a go-to resource. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4–6+ years of progressive experience in compensation, rewards, HR analytics, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of base pay, incentive compensation, job architecture, market pricing, and pay governance
  • Experience applying compensation data, surveys, and analytics to support business decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with HR systems and compensation tools
  • Ability to explain complex or sensitive compensation topics to varied audiences

Responsibilities

  • Independently analyze and evaluate compensation programs, including base pay and incentive plans, ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct job evaluations and market pricing using established methodologies and external survey data; provide data-driven recommendations
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource to HR partners and leaders on compensation policies, guidelines, and pay decisions
  • Solve complex compensation issues and recommend improvements by applying seasoned judgment and new perspectives
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional compensation projects impacting multiple business units
