About The Position

This role provides a unique opportunity to lead and execute high-impact communications initiatives across complex projects. As a Senior Communications Specialist, you will contribute to strategy development, research, and content creation while managing project workflows and mentoring junior team members. You will work closely with internal teams and external clients to deliver compelling, high-quality materials across multiple platforms, including digital, social, and traditional media. This position requires a proactive, organized, and adaptable professional who can thrive in a collaborative environment while supporting multiple priorities. Your contributions will influence client relationships, project outcomes, and organizational communications excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in communications roles, preferably with a health focus; government contracting or agency experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience with media relations, digital content development, social media, and traditional communications channels.
  • Proactive, action-oriented, and adaptable with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ph.D. may substitute for 3 years of experience with a master’s degree or 4 years with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States; remote work requires a dedicated workspace, reliable internet, and alignment with core Eastern Time hours.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, research, and contribute substantively to strategic communications plans, project proposals, and creative solutions.
  • Produce high-quality materials for internal and external audiences, including reports, correspondence, digital content, and multimedia assets.
  • Manage social, paid, and traditional media initiatives, including strategy, content creation, and analytics.
  • Support project management by tracking timelines, deliverables, and quality reviews, ensuring smooth execution across teams.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, maintaining consistent standards of work quality.
  • Communicate with clients and external partners to implement strategies, monitor progress, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Participate in new business development activities, including research, proposal writing, and contributing to organic growth initiatives.
