Senior Commodity Manager Job Description: The Sr. Commodity Manager, PCBA/Contract Manufacturing, is responsible for the financial and operational performance within assigned direct material categories. This position will report directly to the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Electronics and effectively communicate market conditions to Allegion Senior Leadership related to assigned categories, and also; Mature overall capabilities of the strategic sourcing organization based on direct material expertise, analytic ability, and by leading the development of a sub tier supply management framework. Communicate frequently to inform Allegion’s Finance Leadership and or Senior Management teams of latest market conditions and financial impacts to operating plans. Develop global strategies by consulting with regional business leaders in support of Allegion requirements. Lead all supplier selection decisions and be responsible for supplier performance relative to cost, quality, and delivery.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 33% internationally
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
  • 6 to 12 years of increasing responsibility in the areas of Strategic Sourcing, Materials Management, Operations, Quality, Engineering, or related field, including supervisory experience
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel (e.g., excel pivot tables, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint
  • Strong business acumen and analytical thinking, as well as supplier management and contract negotiation experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Must be a strategic thinker and have demonstrated experience driving complex strategies and projects
  • Experience in the development and management of a global supply base is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with global Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) suppliers and understanding of electronic component market
  • Experience with supply chain tools; ERP, GEP, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Performs negotiations and determines the most competitive solutions, using a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Responsible for meeting productivity and inflation targets and mitigates inflation impact
  • Focus on achieving annual objectives in a complex, growing organization
  • Detailed understanding of assigned categories and associated raw material markets
  • Develops and implements comprehensive strategies
  • Effectively communicates the strategy throughout the organization
  • Addresses supplier performance issues with a sense of urgency and able to manage complex commercial relationships
  • Ensures quality requirements and corrective actions are implemented immediately upon notification of any failure
  • Executes contractual agreements with key / preferred suppliers
  • Able to create new or unique T&C's in collaboration with Legal to protect Allegion interests (working knowledge of intellectual property, indemnification, and liability contract language)
  • Proficient in aligning cross functional teams to implement strategies across multi-location / regions
  • Ability to construct value stream maps and utilize financial modeling techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to execute cost reduction sessions with internal/external stakeholders to eliminate non-value add activities
  • Conducts regular Supplier Business Reviews with key suppliers
  • Has a good understanding of Best Practices within Supply Chain Management and Strategic Sourcing
  • Expertise in developing "Should Cost" and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models including non-monetary benefits
  • Effectively mentor and teach procurement concepts
  • Knows the high-level global implication of Market Condition changes and how this effects assigned categories
