About The Position

In this position, you will be the Project Manager for multiple high-profile, national and international Commissioning projects across DLR Group’s core sectors including Workplace, Federal, Education, Hospitality, Healthcare, Justice & Civic, Mixed-Use and more. You will manage a commissioning team and work with these integrated design teams of Architects, Engineers and specialty designers, providing commissioning expertise As a Senior Commissioning Authority, you will manage multiple projects at a time, perform thorough design and construction reviews, conduct commissioning meetings, and oversee functional testing. Expect to be traveling approximately 10–30% of your time in a typical month. In this role there is potential for rapid growth opportunities as we expand our Smart Buildings team. The successful candidate will:

Requirements

  • +15 years of hands-on experience in commissioning building systems
  • Strong knowledge of the building design and construction industry, with expertise in the commissioning process for new construction, major renovations, and existing buildings
  • In-depth understanding of energy use, indoor environmental quality, operations, and maintenance in building commissioning
  • Technical expertise in MEP and building automation systems, with the ability to evaluate and test system performance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong organizational and computer skills
  • Commissioning certification from a recognized body (ACG, BCA, or ASHRAE)
  • Possess a sense of self-direction and the ability to manage your own time and aid others to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, SkySpark as a Connected-Commissioning/Monitoring-based Commissioning tool is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning activities across all phases of the project with multiple trades and client management
  • Review design and construction documents for compliance with Owner’s Project Requirements and Basis of Design
  • Oversee the implementation of commissioning plans, specifications, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance tests.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding that impact system performance.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Meet with potential clients, develop relationships, and present the value of our commissioning services.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, helping to build a capable and cohesive commissioning team.
