About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Closing Specialist to support our Community Lending and Investment (CLI) team in our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) division, who will complete the booking, compliance, FDPA and other tasks associated with closing and booking Affordable Housing, and other commercial community development lending transactions. In this role, you will: Lead a variety of pre-close activities for moderately complex to complex commercial loans, including coordinating all aspects of loan closings Accurately evaluate and upload data into the systems of record to ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements Work collaboratively with Credit, Sales and Legal regarding proper procedures and documentation requirements necessary to ensure accuracy with negotiated terms and ensure alignment with appropriate compliance standards Review complex legal documentation, evaluate risks, develop strategies to mitigate documentation risk and identify procedural modifications Serve as an escalation point in the resolution of client, and internal partner issues related to closing, booking, and compliance tasks. Conduct quality reviews and monitor key performance metrics related to efficiencies and effective processes Identify activities of the team to ensure conformity with established procedures Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Interact with internal customers

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Commercial Loan Closing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • This position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship
  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years’ experience in documenting and closing commercial real estate loans as a paralegal or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in Community Lending, Affordable Housing, or equivalent industry experience
  • Familiarity with real estate documentation and closing coordination
  • Experience in Community Development Lending including NMTC, CDFI, or LIHTC
  • Community Lending experience with non-profits or affordable housing developers
  • Experience with nCino loan origination system
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting commercial lending
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and ensure adherence to risk and compliance standards
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely and accurate loan closings
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and dynamic spreadsheets to support core accounting and finance functions
