About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Closing Specialist as part of Commercial Middle Market Banking. This role involves leading a variety of post-close activities for moderately complex to complex commercial loans, including direct customer contact, executing servicing and portfolio-related tasks transitioned from credit, service, and sales partners with accuracy, timeliness, and strict adherence to policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and performance key performance indicators. The specialist will accurately evaluate and upload data into systems of record to ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. They will interact collaboratively with internal customers including Credit, Sales, Back Office, and Legal regarding proper procedures and documentation requirements. The role also requires identifying, assessing, and promptly escalating credit, servicing, operational, and documentation-related risks, evaluating risk impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and recommending procedural enhancements. The specialist will deliver clear, timely, and effective communication, conduct quality reviews, and monitor key performance metrics. They will receive direction from leaders while exercising independent judgment to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. A key aspect is championing standardized execution of the Portfolio Execution operating model within Credit Servicing, ensuring alignment with governance, documented procedures, Wells Fargo risk philosophies, and rapid adoption of new tools and processes. Collaboration with peers, colleagues, managers, and partners is essential to resolve issues, achieve goals, and support team objectives, demonstrating accountability, adaptability, and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Commercial Loan Closing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Responsibilities

  • Lead a variety of post-close activities for moderately complex to complex commercial loans, including direct customer contact
  • Execute servicing and portfolio‑related tasks transitioned from credit, service, and sales partners with accuracy, timeliness, and strict adherence to policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and performance key performance indicators
  • Accurately evaluate and upload data into the systems of record to ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Interact with internal customers collaboratively including Credit, Sales, Back Office and Legal regarding proper procedures and documentation requirements necessary to ensure accuracy with negotiated terms and ensure alignment with appropriate compliance standards
  • Identify, assess, and promptly escalate credit, servicing, operational, and documentation‑related risks, including those arising from complex legal agreements; evaluate risk impacts, develop mitigation strategies, and recommend procedural enhancements to ensure appropriate visibility, compliance, and resolution
  • Deliver clear, timely, and effective communication using appropriate tools to drive alignment and support urgent servicing needs and serve as escalation point for the resolution of issues
  • Conduct quality reviews and monitor key performance metrics as related to efficiencies and effective processes
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Champion standardized execution of the Portfolio Execution operating model within Credit Servicing, ensuring alignment with governance, documented procedures, Wells Fargo risk philosophies, and rapid adoption of new tools and processes
