About The Position

As a Senior Commercial Lender at EastRise Credit Union, this role is responsible for driving the strategic growth of commercial loan and deposit portfolios while supporting the financial well-being of the communities we serve. With 8–10 years of commercial lending experience, the position focuses on originating and managing complex credit relationships, expanding business through proactive networking and community engagement, and deepening existing member partnerships. The Senior Lender serves as a visible and trusted representative of EastRise, embodying its mission and values both professionally and personally, while maintaining accountability for portfolio performance, risk management, and long-term relationship development.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • A college degree.
  • The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required.
  • Must have experience in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses; must have excellent communication and PR skills; ability to use related software required.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Responsibilities

  • Serves the commercial banking needs of EastRise Credit Union members by delivering tailored financial solutions rooted in a deep understanding of each business’s goals and challenges. Builds long-term, trust-based relationships by customizing lending, cash management, and deposit strategies that align with members’ evolving needs. Acts as a strategic advisor, structuring competitive and practical financing packages that add value to the portfolio and contribute to sustainable growth through high-quality lending opportunities.
  • Monitors the performance of the existing commercial loan portfolio to ensure asset quality and regulatory compliance. Maintains accurate and up-to-date member files, including financial statements, cash flow projections, and loan documentation. Communicates appropriate risk ratings and maintains regular contact with members to ensure EastRise continues to meet their financial needs effectively.
  • Analyzes current market trends and economic indicators to identify emerging opportunities and inform lending strategies. Provides data-driven insights to support portfolio expansion and enhance EastRise’s competitive positioning in the commercial lending space.
  • Responds promptly to member inquiries and concerns related to commercial loans, ensuring a high standard of service and satisfaction throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Assists in the collection and resolution of past-due loans, balancing member support with the protection of the Credit Union’s financial interests.
