About The Position

The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for compiling and preparing financial information required to make credit decisions for commercial loan requests. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing the financial analysis to make credit decisions, contributing to the loan decision process, monitoring the existing loan portfolio and evaluating credit risk. They will provide project assistance as required by the VP Commercial Underwriting Manager and Chief Credit Officer. Provides an independent assessment of credit quality for existing and prospective commercial banking clients by conducting comprehensive financial analyses including scrutinizing financial statements or income tax returns and performing detailed financial statement analysis, trend analysis, industry assessments, collateral valuations, cash flow analysis and evaluation of the ability to repay required debt service. Examines, analyzes, and evaluates a variety of documents and business structures, and then utilizes independent judgment to determine and document the degree of proposed transaction risk when compared to Credit policy. Extrapolates data from financial statements, tax returns, credit agencies, online searches, and all other available resources to analyze cash flows, develop projections, prepare detailed property descriptions and market analysis, tenancy analysis, property valuations, construction budget analysis with sources and uses, guarantor/sponsor personal financial statements and cash flows, and real estate holdings analysis. Spreads financial statements and tax returns and performs industry peer analysis to perform detailed credit analysis and risk assessments. Performs other duties assigned, and all duties in accordance with Bank policies, procedures and the applicable regulatory compliance guidelines. Understands and ensures compliance with all Federal and State Regulations and internal banking policies and procedures. Works with lenders to ensure all post-closing missing items are received and delivered to Loan Servicing. Complete projects as assigned by the Commercial Credit Underwriting Manager or Chief Credit Officer. Mains current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations, bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a business-related field, or equivalent work experience is required. Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus
  • Formal commercial credit training is preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of commercial credit analysis experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Proven ability to gather and analyze data and information, draw logical conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. Proven problem-solving ability
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong presentation skills
  • Team player able to work effectively in a team-fostered, multi-tasking environment
