About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Staffing & Recruiting is partnered with a growing GovTech organization to identify a Senior Collections Manager for an immediate contract opportunity. This is a high‑impact collections role focused exclusively on driving cash, reducing past‑due AR, and bringing discipline and ownership to the collections function. The team is urgently adding dedicated collections professionals to stabilize and accelerate cash conversion across a complex customer portfolio.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of hands‑on Accounts Receivable / Cash Collections experience
• Proven success collecting on aged AR (60+ / 90+)
• Experience managing high‑value or high‑volume customer portfolios
• Strong understanding of DSO, AR aging, and cash application
• Comfortable handling difficult customer conversations and negotiations
• Highly proactive, persistent, and results‑driven collections mindset

Nice To Haves

• ERP experience preferred (Sage Intacct, Salesforce, or similar)

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end collections for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts
• Proactively manage 30 / 60 / 90+ day past‑due balances
• Execute structured collections cadence (calls, emails, follow‑ups, escalations)
• Drive resolution of billing disputes, short pays, and unapplied cash
• Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Billing, and Finance
• Escalate high‑risk accounts and develop recovery action plans
• Analyze AR aging trends and provide actionable insights
• Maintain detailed documentation and collections notes
• Support cash forecasting and collections reporting
• Ensure adherence to payment terms and internal credit policies
