About The Position

BestLogic Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing client to hire an experienced Senior CNC Turning Setup / Operator . This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who can independently set up, program adjustments, and run CNC lathes while maintaining high precision and efficiency. You'll play a key role in production, quality control, and mentoring junior operators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of CNC turning (lathe) setup and operation experience
• Strong understanding of G-code editing and machine controls
• Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Ability to hold tight tolerances and work independently
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Must meet ITAR/EAR compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

• Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Leadership or mentoring experience

Responsibilities

• Perform full setups and operation of CNC turning (lathe) machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
• Make program edits, offsets, and adjustments to meet tight tolerances
• Select and apply proper cutting tools, feeds, and speeds
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements
• Maintain high production output while ensuring top quality standards
• Complete all required production documentation (scrap, counts, time logs)
• Maintain clean and organized workstations and equipment
• Assist in training and mentoring junior machinists and operators
• Follow all safety, quality, and company policies
