About The Position

Provides oversight of Continuing Medical Education Conferences, Regularly Scheduled Series or Enduring Material activities that are designed for the internal and/or external medical specialty audiences. Engages physician course directors to identify gaps in competencies, performance in practice and patient outcomes. Implements new programs to address the learning needs of the healthcare team. Educates CME course directors and support staff regarding the CME approval process and ensures compliance with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and Joint Accreditation criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates resources and all logistics for Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference activities, both internal and external that the Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) provides meeting management services for.
  • Provides guidance and strategies to develop and deliver content in the format appropriate for the learners for Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) and Enduring Activities.
  • Implements training activities pertaining to the applicable system and provides training to new team members as needed, teaching members within own function.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and team members in all aspects of event planning including, venue, catering, business services, audiovisual support, etc. Coordinates staffing and resource activities with limited guidance.
  • Responsible for acting as a liaison for the department to national, regional, and local CME related organizations as well as on internal (System) CME committees and initiatives alongside the Lead.
  • Takes initiative to independently identify leadership when identifying potential sources of commercial support for conferences; liaisons with industry regarding educational grants and exhibit space to ensure compliance with ACCME Standards for Commercial Support.
  • Identifies physician and healthcare team learning needs (gap analysis) and developing educational activities which are consistent with the CME mission, ACCME and Joint Accreditation criteria.
  • Reviews planning documents with course leadership and makes recommendations for revisions as needed to gain course approval.
  • Engages and interacts with visiting faculty and their support staff to collect required faculty documents, arrange, and coordinate faculty travel and accommodations; maintains calendar of CME conferences.
  • Operates under minimal supervision and uses independent judgement on work assignments involving moderately complex to complex issues, where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Performs related duties as required.
