The Health and Wellness Cluster is a $10M division which provides a wide array of personalized behavioral health services to individuals coping with the challenges brought on by emotional problems and mental illness. A New York State certified MHORTS/ Article 31 mental health facility, this division delivers outpatient mental health services, crisis services, HIV family mental health services, vocational rehabilitation, parent education, supportive employment, case management, screenings for entitlement benefits, health care navigator program and Senior Services. Services are provided by culturally competent, multilingual staff. Our programs are designed to help individuals attain their fullest potential in an environment that values respect, dignity, care and integrity. Henry Street Settlement is seeking a Senior Clinician to join our dynamic Mental Health Outpatient Recovery & Treatment Services (MHORTS) team. This is a unique opportunity to provide both clinical mental health and substance use treatment services in a community-based setting. The Senior Clinician will play a key role in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care to adults and families in the Lower East Side. This position requires strong clinical acumen, a commitment to recovery-oriented practice, and an ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including our dedicated recovery peer staff.

Requirements

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Social \Worker (LMSW) required.
• CASAC or relevant substance use treatment experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience providing mental health and/or substance use services.
• Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse and underserved populations.
• Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Ability to walk on sidewalks, up and down stairs, and throughout clinic consistently throughout each day
• Ability to carry folders, a tablet, a notebook, and cell phone (up to 20 pounds) for several hours per day

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to a diverse client population using evidence-informed practices.
• Integrate substance use treatment skills and harm-reduction approaches into all aspects of clinical care.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, develop person-centered treatment plans, and regularly monitor and document client progress.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, peer specialists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with OMH, and internal agency standards.
• Participate actively in case conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings, and individual and group supervision.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and client-centered clinic environment that supports recovery and empowerment.
• Uphold and contribute to the agency’s mission of providing accessible, culturally responsive mental health services to the Lower East Side community.
