About The Position

A Senior Clinician at Covenant Family Solutions provides oversight of Licensed Mental Healthcare Providers, Nurse Practitioners, and Administrative Assistants while managing their own client caseload. This position is responsible for ensuring a high quality of care is being provided to our clients. This position does not involve supervision of temporary licensed therapists.

  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations and adherence to relevant legal and ethical guidelines in psychiatric care.
  • A minimum of a master's degree and an active license in mental health counseling or social work in the state the clinic is located in. OR
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the ANCC.
  • Three years of working experience in providing mental health services.
  • Two years of Leadership experience.
  • Authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities

  • Understands and lives CFS Core Values.
  • Develops with the Regional Clinic Director/Clinic Director and AA weekly Clinic Meeting Agenda.
  • Facilitates weekly clinic meetings.
  • Works closely with the Regional Clinic Director/Clinic Director to review clinic KPIs and quarterly goals.
  • Audit records as clinically needed under the guidance of the Clinical Director to ensure quality of care is being provided. Auditing will be completed at least annually.
  • Provides clinical case consultation to providers.
  • Works with the Client Experience Manager to ensure Administrative Assistants have the appropriate training.
  • Encourage opportunities for team connection and team building.
  • Review, discuss with team members if needed and sign off on incident reports.
  • Establish and review emergency protocols for the site.
  • Review and practice emergency protocols at least on a quarterly basis with their team.
  • Ensures team members are following policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement corrective action as needed following the Employee Corrective Action Policy.
  • Assists in onboarding new employees by training the new provider in InSync and other CFS computer programs as well as orientating them to the clinic.
  • Works with the Director to ensure budgets are being met.
  • Interview new candidates.
  • Answers InSync questions as they arise.
  • Performs initial intake sessions and makes recommendations about appropriate level of care and treatment options.
  • Utilizes the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders appropriately.
  • Develops a treatment plan, based on client's strengths, and needs.
  • Assess client for suicide and other self-harm.
  • Provides high quality individual, couple and family therapy sessions by tackling the tough issues.
  • Accurately completes all documentation in the client's electronic health record following all policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration with other healthcare professionals to meet the needs of the client.
  • Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to meet the clients' needs.
  • Refer client or family members to community resources or to specialists as needed.
  • Participates in weekly clinical meetings for team building, administrative information, case consultation and policy/handbook discussions.
  • Learn about new developments in the counseling field by reading professional literature, attending courses, workshops, and trainings.
  • Upholds client confidentiality.
  • Seeks out supervision and case consultation as needed.
  • Maintain professional liability coverage throughout employment.
  • Maintains detailed temp license documentation per state requirements.
  • Adheres to all Licensure requirements and code of ethics.
  • Participate in networking efforts and community engagement.
  • Meets the Mandatory Reporter training requirements for the state the clinic is located in.
  • Dedication to promoting and upholding the organizations' purpose, promises and values.
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess client's mental health conditions.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical assessment, history, and client input.
  • Assist in managing psychiatric crisis, providing support to clients in crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with emergency services as needed for client safety.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring their efficacy and side effects.
  • Educate clients about medication compliance and potential risks.
  • Administer evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or dialectical-behavior therapy, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to coordinate client care.
  • Provide client education on mental health conditions, medication management, coping strategies, and wellness.
  • Utilize CFS's Electronic Health Record and all web-based programs which would include prescribing medication.
  • Complete the necessary prior authorization paperwork for insurance companies.
  • Complete lab orders.
  • Complete external paperwork as needed for the client's care, such as FMLA, referral, disability and etc.
  • Address any concerns or questions clients may have regarding their treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Submit billing and coding information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in psychiatric care, treatments, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
