Job Description: Our Parsons Centreville, VA or Washington, DC office is now hiring for a Senior Bridge Engineer to support our Bridge projects in Virginia/DC region, with a desire to work on both conventional and design/build Bridge programs. You can be a part of a global company that has transformed over 4400 bridges around the world! In this role, you will work with concrete and steel Bridges, Deck and superstructure rehabilitations and have the technical expertise to deliver any other type of bridge design. We are respected for our technical depth, client focus and project execution. In this role, you will plan and design Bridge structures to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for the development of engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys and designs. This position will be on a Hybrid basis in the Centreville, VA or Washington, DC office

Requirements

  • 8 years or more of related work experience with bridge engineering design
  • VDOT & DDOT experience is a must
  • BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis is required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and Microstation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standard and specialty bridge design and analysis software

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Structural Engineering is preferred
  • PE licensure is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform conventional and moderately complex bridge engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
  • May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
  • Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking and improved results.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with all employees, clients and other stakeholders.
