About The Position

Purpose: Leads and serves as subject matter expert in Citrix operations and using the technology to achieve delivery of Citrix services that improve the working lives of our team members. This role will support the selection, standardization and management toolsets of the end user technology Citrix environment, ranging from application packaging through lifecycle management, including Citrix desktop, mobile and virtual environments. Needs to understand the ongoing technology needs of the end users to serve as a bridge between them and IT Application and Infrastructure teams. Additionally, the role will be responsible for providing escalated support services for Citrix user technologies.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in Computer Science or leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of Citrix education and experience
  • 7+ years' relevant experience required with expert level depth of knowledge in profession
  • Practical experience in an enterprise level role related to operating large Citrix production environments
  • In-depth exposure and experience in IT infrastructure/systems experience with good experience in Windows technologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of how the following Windows components integrate with Citrix technologies: Active Directory Domain Services Active Directory Certificate Services Policies Domain Name System (DNS) Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Group Policy Objects (GPOs) NTFS Permissions Authentication and Authorization
  • Knowledge of IIS
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Windows 10 Windows 8.1 Windows 7 Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows Server 2008 R2 Roles and features of Windows Server
  • Knowledge of SQL 2008 R2 and newer
  • Knowledge of SQL Clustering, Mirroring and AlwaysOn Availability Groups
  • General networking skills (i.e. routing, switching)
  • Knowledge of hypervisors
  • Knowledge of shared storage configuration and management

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for EUT Tower discipline ensuring Citrix environments are fit for purpose
  • Directs technical resources on advanced solutions to successful outcomes in line with business requirements
  • Translate business requirements into technical tasks that allow the wider team to service our wider customer base
  • Monitor and produce capacity models to allow strategic investment of budgets to ensure KPIs and SLAs are achieved
  • Produce and implement tasks required for yearly and 3-5 lifecycle product roadmaps working with suppliers to ensure there is a clear upgrade path to ensure we are fully supported both in terms of vendor products and user demand capacity
  • Provides 3rd and 4th level tier support to both internal and external teams
  • Takes escalations from less experienced team members, seeing through to a successful outcome
  • Contributes to the evaluation of new and emerging technologies
  • Consults with a wide variety of other teams including security operations, systems engineering, hardware operations, and business partners in providing a secure and reliable End User Technology platform that ensures that our internal and external clients have the core office tools to perform their work tasks
  • Trains End User Technology team members
